As an exclusive benefit for Robins Trust membership, we’ve launched a brand-new Cheltenham Town podcast - Ornithology: a Robins Trust podcast.
This is (initially at least) a series where we speak to various decision-makers and members of staff from the club about how the whole thing operates and how they keep the show on the road.
We'll take a look under the bonnet at the major owners, the Club board, the medical staff, how a shirt is put together, running the stadium and the vast quantity of things a Football Secretary needs to do.
Trust Members can access Ornithology episodes through their memberful account, which links to most podcast platforms. This month, we examine the club's ownership structure with one of the significant shareholders (and former Chairman) Paul Baker, exploring how the main owners of the Club work together, how they interact with and appoint the Club board of Directors. We also take a wander through the issue of appointing a CEO and the future of Whaddon Road.

Further information on accessing the podcast:
This is a series of monthly deep-dives into how the Club is structured and how it works, with Trust board member Jaimie speaking to various people from the Club to shed light on how the components fit together.
The first episode, which is available now, features a discussion with one of the significant shareholders (and former Chairman) Paul Baker, exploring how the main owners of the Club work together, how they interact with and appoint the Club board of Directors, the issue of appointing a CEO and the future of Whaddon Road.
We hope you’ll find it illuminating. If you have any questions or feedback, please drop us a line at firstname.lastname@example.org
Although this is linked to your Robins Trust Memberful account, once you have linked it to your podcast platform, it should then appear there as soon as new episodes are released.
This is an experiment, so it might not run completely smoothly the first time, but if you bear with us, we’ll iron out the teething problems as they occur. There’s a learning curve around how to make the podcast private enough to only be accessible to members, but making sure that podcast platforms are able to find it.
Podcast set-up instructions for Trust members
This should be very straight-forward, but please contact us at email@example.com if you have trouble accessing the podcast.
To subscribe to Ornithology:
Go to: https://robinstrust.memberful.com/auth/sign_in and log-in to your account using either your password or by requesting the link.
Once in you will now see a new section entitled ‘Podcasts’ on the left hand menu.
Select the podcast provider you wish to listen on based on the platform you are using - Memberful should then take you through the required steps. Some are outlined in more detail below. Spotify Google Podcasts
As Spotify is likely to be a very popular platform and it has slightly more steps than some of the others, we’ve included Memberful’s guidance to linking to Spotify here:
Spotify Memberful have provided a guide specifically for subscribing on Spotify - follow the steps below, but it will be for ‘Ornithology: a Robins Trust podcast’, rather than the show ‘Jen’s Bakery’ that they’ve used in the example:
After selecting Spotify in Memberful, you will be redirected to Spotify to login and the paid podcast will still be locked.
You can either login with your existing Spotify account or create a new one.
Spotify will take you through a few confirmation pages and ask you to agree with their permissions (these are light touch, and you can withdraw at any point).
After agreeing, you’ll see your members-only podcast with a lock symbol, and will click on it.
A pop up will appear and you will need to click Get access.
You'll be redirected to a page that will sync your Memberful and Spotify account. Click Link Account.
You'll be redirected to a Memberful sign-in form if needed.
After sign-in, you'll be redirected to a Spotify page confirming access. You can click on the link to get redirected to your Spotify account.
The Spotify paid podcast is now unlocked and you have access to the content.
If you select Google Podcasts on your Memberful account page, you will be taken directly to a page where you will simply need to copy and paste the link from Memberful (second image below).
To find that URL, copy the link from the Memberful podcast menu (highlighted in yellow below) into the box, and click ‘subscribe’:
We hope you enjoy the podcast. Once again, if you have any problems, feedback, suggestions, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org
